Jira, Bulk Change Operations

Performing a bulk change operation in Jira requires:

  • permission to carry out bulk operations (CDRator employees and customers have it).
  • permission to carry out the underlying action, e.g. delete, move etc. (CDRator employees and customers have it).
  • query result on which to perform the action.

  1. Perform the query.
  2. Open the Tools drop-down and click the issue-link as shown below.

This opens the query result (below).

  3. Click the check box for every issue in the list which is to be affected by the bulk operation.
  4. Click on the Next button below the list.

  5. Click one of the six radio buttons (above) to specify the action to be performed.
  6. Click the Next button at the bottom.

  7. Specify the field(s) and the action to be performed (above).

At the bottom of this screen a check box is checked (below) by default to indicate that mail(s) are sent to the relevant users to notify about the change.

  8. Leave the 'Send mail..' check box to send notification mails, otherwise click it.
  9. Click the Next button at the bottom.

Step 4 displays a summary of the action to be performed. If anything should be changed at his point, use the 'Go back' feature of your browser to return to the previous step and make the change.
